Meet Our Family
Lamons (pronounced: "Lay-mens") Labradors is owned by Tara and Holden Lamons and was established in 2013 when we purchased our first female. We had our first litter as "Lamons Labradors" in 2015. Tara graduated in December of 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Tara worked as a Veterinary Assistant for several years and has recently transitioned to a work from home position with Veterinarian who provides end of life care for pets, which has allowed her to dedicate more time to her children and the Labradors. She has a strong interest in genetics and theriogenology. Holden graduated in May of 2012 with a degree in Civil Engineering and is a Traffic Specialist Engineer for MoDot. We welcomed the addition of our sons, Silas, in May of 2018 and Shiloh in November 2020 and look forward to their involvement with the dogs. I (Tara) grew up with Labradors in the family and always knew that I wanted to pursue breeding my favorite breed as a hobby. I very much enjoy studying genetics and I enjoy educating the general public on how and where to purchase well bred dogs. I enjoy showing our dogs in conformation, hiking, riding reining horses and just doing farm work. We have recently relocated to our little piece of paradise in Aurora, Missouri, and are hobby breeders of quality, genetically sound Labradors.

The reason
Why do we breed? It all started in 2009 when my sweet Maizy came into this world. Maizy became my best friend instantly and traveled with me everywhere and through every stage of life. She has been the best dog anyone could ask for. There were Labradors before her, but she is the reason I fell in love with the breed. She lived to run, retrieve and always knew what I needed. She unfortunately suffered from several health issues throughout her life, her biggest being severe hip dysplasia. She is my why. She is the reason breeding responsibly and putting the health of the dog at the forefront is so important to me. Because of Maizy I strive to do what's right for the Breed and to preserve it's purpose. I lost my best friend three months after receiving a cancer diagnosis with an oral tumor that had subsequently metastasized.
